Thankful for Stuff

Thanks to everyone who voted in my flooring poll. We're going with hardwood! The house is coming along nicely, I'll have pictures up soon. We have walls and ceilings and everything! It's very exciting. Who knew I would ever be this excited about sheetrock? Not only am I excited about it, but I am also thankful for it. Soon, we will move into our new house with walls and ceilings and carpet and tile and all sorts of things to keep us warm and safe from the elements. And everything we've been through will become a distant memory but hopefully a memory that will remind me to never take those things for granted again. And remind me that it could have been so much worse. Unlike a lot of people, we did not lose everything. Still, this experience served as a reminder that all those comforts we enjoy can be striped away amazingly, painfully fast. I never want to forget that so I plan on framing pictures of the mess we've been through to hang above the fireplace. It'll look lovely next to the dried flowers. And if any of you ever have your house suddenly rain hell upon you, you can totally stay at our place because we have 6 months (and counting) worth of favors to repay. And according to my in-laws, we're a joy to live with. AB-SO-LUTE JOY.

And my in-laws can't lie. It's against their religion.

I will count on staying at your house when my house floods....wait, I hope that NEVER happens to us. Seeing you go through that is bad enough. Can't wait to see your remodeled house! :)

Well, I was waiting for you to say something. Draper is a little longer drive to school for me, but it will do....oh, and I'm told I'm NOT such a joy to live with. Sad thing is I can't really disagree with anyone on this one.

BTW- Corbin left his phone here, and Zachary won't stop talking about how we need to give it back. You might want to get it sooner than later so he doesn't eat it. Yes, I know you're thinking "how could he eat a phone?" Boy, do I have stories to tell- apparently anything can be digested by the human body.

Ummm..... I know you really wanted Jonny to go into "GAS" to help Pistol Peter with his problem but I don't think he is going to anymore. Maybe he can just prescribe him some really good drugs for him problem. Poor guy!
